MountainAir Filtration Services (Mountains Ltd)
Established in 1916, Mountains supplied Mechanical Power Transmission Equipment to commerce and industry: the general engineering trade, manufacturing companies, hospitals, laundries and workshops along the Thames who serviced the tug boats and barges who extensively used the river at that time.
During both World Wars, the Ministry of Defence, armaments factories and navel dockyards in the south of England, were supplied from our South London factory, in Peckham and the office in Kennington.
The repair and the modernization of the countries infrastructure after WW2 was a formidable challenge. With a massive re-building program being undertaken all over the country and especially in London, Mountains expanded and introduced exciting new products. Some of which were supplied and fitted at the exhibition site for the Festival of Britain on the South Bank site. Replacement Gears, Sprockets and Chains were supplied the Palace of Westminster, for the clock tower of Big Ben and also the new London Planetarium exhibition, the famous revolving sign, at New Scotland Yard was made with Mountains' supplied equipment.
With commerce developing and expanding in the capital, Air Conditioning was now being installed in department stores, hotels and offices. The company diversified into Air Conditioning Equipment and in particular consumable spares, such as replacement Drive Belts and Pulleys, Filters, Fans and Shafts, Motors and Anti-Vibration Mounts.
In 1998 Mountains moved to Tunbridge Wells in Kent where our office and warehouses are now located at the Manor Court Business Centre. With easy access to the M25 via the A21 and great transport links throughout the South East, we are able to supply our customers on a same day, or overnight delivery basis. We look forward to receiving your enquiries and being of service to you.
